Who we are

FragranceIQ is operated by an independent sole trader based in New South Wales, Australia (ABN 87 426 102 217) — the party responsible for your data under this policy. Privacy questions or data requests: yusuf.unal0926@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Account data — name, email, hashed password (or Google account link), avatar URL, notification preferences.
  • Product activity — saved fragrances, collection items, price alerts, reviews, recently viewed products. Used solely to power those features and your recommendations.
  • Anonymous usage — searches and outbound retailer clicks are recorded against a random session id (cookie fiq_sid), never your identity. This powers affiliate reporting and product analytics.
  • Optional analytics — PostHog loads only after you accept analytics cookies in the consent banner.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent personal data.
  • Tie click analytics to your account.
  • Let commission rates influence verdicts or rankings.

Cookies

Essential: session authentication (secure, httpOnly) and the anonymous analytics session id. Optional: PostHog analytics, gated behind consent. You can change your choice by clearing site data.

Emails

Transactional emails (verification, password reset, price alerts you created) are always sent. Marketing-adjacent emails (weekly deals digest) are opt-in and controllable in your profile.

Retention & deletion

Account data persists while the account exists. Deleting your account removes your profile, favourites, collection, alerts, reviews, and notification history. Email yusuf.unal0926@gmail.com for deletion or a data export.

Third parties

Retailer links leave our site — retailers have their own privacy policies. Infrastructure providers (hosting, email delivery, optional analytics/monitoring) process data on our behalf under their respective terms.
